Organizational Overview
Established in 2004 by a group of residents concerned about the lack of funding for local organizations, the Cavalier Community Foundation provides a method of receiving funds/donations to benefit projects or non-profit organizations in the Cavalier area. The Cavalier Community Foundation is affiliated with the North Dakota Community Foundation, which is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation under IRS code 501(C)3 and North Dakota State law.
Guidelines
· Grants shall be awarded to organizations within the city of Cavalier and a 20 mile radius around the city · The average grant size will generally be between $250 and $500, not to exceed $500. · The Cavalier Community Foundation will not provide funding for day-to-day operations. · Grants will be given on an annual basis. Multi-year grant will not be funded. · Grants to religious organizations will be limited to those activities which are non-denominational and serve the entire community. · The Cavalier Community Foundation will not fund entire projects. Please consider how this grant can supplement other funds for projects. Applications must be received by April 30th of each year. In funding decisions, the board will consider the following:
· Organizational management and integrity · Level of local involvement and support · The number of people to be served · The impact of the grant on the success of the project
Grant applications can be picked up at the Cavalier Chamber of Commerce office or from one of the Cavalier Community Foundation advisory board members. Please return completed applications to the Chamber of Commerce office or to Lynette Flage by April 30th. They MUST BE RECEIVED at either of these sites by April 30th.

Grant awardees will be notified by May 10th of each year.
